      That place is where the mountains kick in on the drive to Asheville, imo. And there are vistas along the way that make my heart sing.

         I love that drive to Asheville.  A few years ago when D and I were driving up there for my first time in 5? 10? years, I burst into spontaneous tears as soon as the mountains came into view. I mean from happy smiling to wailing tears of awe and wonder in milliseconds.  That may well have been one of the last times I will get that view, so I am grateful to have had such a wonder-full experience. I went to undergrad at ASU, and I used to have a similar, though less dramatic (since I made the drive multiple times per year), reaction every time I saw the mountains for the first time driving up to Boone. I am most DEFINITELY a mountain girl.
