When I met Sweet Leaf Nursery on BlueSky they were all mail order. But, by the time I was going to be in their area, they had gotten a booth at the PeeDee State Farmers Market. So, Saturday I went to see them. They are both delightful and happy to talk about their plants.
I bought 3.

I planned to get the nepenthes. But, the drosera were too much fun to leave behind.
The one that looks like an alien is Drosera binata. The Drosera aliciae is the more common type of sundew. (I saw them called bog buttons on Reddit yesterday.)

That dish was a wedding present to my parents and I had never figured out a good use for it since it has no drainage. But, drosera need to keep their feet wet. So, there they are.
The Nepenthes briggsiana needs moist soil but not a soggy bottom. This is its temporary spot. I haven’t decided about a pot yet.

Miranda said that if it quits making pitchers, it isn’t getting enough sun. Because nepenthes are tropical vines, they come in for winter and don’t grow new traps until they go back outside in spring. But, that happens pretty quickly once they have enough light. I’m curious to see how this one does with the full spectrum bulbs we have in the kitchen.
Do I keep posting pictures from Artfields or have I blown up your Reader or email enough with those? Should I have said more about the ones I did post?
Do I continue to share my thoughts and the links I find about haiku? Or do I just keep adding to my original post about it and keep it mostly to myself?
How many progress pictures of plants does anyone really care to see?
These questons are mostly rhetorical, unless your answer to one is “I really like seeing those.” (FTR, I blocked my mother from my FB account, while I still had one, for telling me that she wasn’t interested in flower pictures.)
I have just learned that I can’t change the size of a font within a paragragh. It’s all or nothing, baby. I can do sub- or superscript. But that looks weird.
I can do footnotes though. 1
And I finally figured out how to set links to open in a new tab. I prefer that instead of perpetually using the back button. And I like being able to open a link and come back to read it after I’ve finished the main article.
Now, I need to think of something to write make space between that paragraph and the footnote. The truth is, I don’t write anything long enough to justify a footnote. And watching someone selse play with the buttons can become annoying pretty quickly.
Anyway. I’m trying to figure what to do next. I like having a little buffer and scheduled posts. It gives me room when I have stupid or busy days. And, since you keep following2, I’m guessing it’s entertaining.
I started this as a way to talk to my kid when they aren’t present. But, they don’t read it.3
I kind of filled this up with ArtFields art while we were there. I’m not usually that prolific. I really wanted to show you all of it because it is amazing. But, now I’m second guessing how much is enough and how much is too much.

I wanted to touch this so bad!
