This couple showed up in our back yard one day in October of 2020. I had never seen quail here before that and I have never seen any since.

Goldfinches change out their bright yellow feathers for a more muted green for the winter. Looks like this guy is ready for Spring to get on with it.

We don’t see them often. So, I’m always pleased when one shows up.
Cracks me up that they always eat upside down.
