I went to the Scuppernong Books SciFi Book Club tonight. We had read Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, the first of the MaddAddam trilogy. It’s a good story and I’m rereading the whole thing.
This is where I usually park.
Next month, we are reading Arch-Conspirator by Veronica Roth. I accidentally read it early and that inspired me to check out Sophocles’ plays about Oedipus and his family from the library.
For November, we’re reading Vurt by Jeff Noon. And, since December is a busy month, we went ahead and chose a short book I had raved about, A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers.
So far, I’m batting a thousand. I hope they like this one, too.
(I had previously suggested Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary and everyone enjoyed it.)
