We got our first COVID vaccination yesterday

The place we got it was astonishing. It was drive through.

We couldn’t get in the front entrance of the community college where it was set up. There was a cop parked in the road to block that entrance. So, we drove around to the back entrance where the line formed.

There was a group of 4 people handing out a form for us to fill out at one spot. (We had been told to bring something hard we could use to write on and a pen.) Then, a little line as we filled in the top part of our forms. Then, we drove into a tent where another little group of people collected the forms and asked all the preliminary questions and told us what side effects to expect. A second tent had 6 stations of people to give the shots. We pulled out of that and were directed to park for 15 minutes in case of an unexpected reaction.

There were some people in street clothes and some in fire department and military uniforms. Some had stethoscopes draped around their necks. Where we got the shot was determined entirely on which arm was by the door of the car. The needle didn’t hurt but the vaccine was a little thick.

We did some yard work when we got home, hoping to work it in to the muscle sooner. But, we were both whining about it being sore by bedtime.

I sent this to my kid to show off.
